Humans:
Just like our world, in Shapewurld humans have existed for a long time. Going through all kinds of events in history.
Human history in Shapewurld is very similar to ours, just taking place on different shaped continents.
Not much to say because we're talking about humans, so I'll move on to the next major populous.
Penumbrians:
Penumbrians are somewhat rare in ShapeWurld, but common in Flipside.
That's because Flipside is their main home, created by Calamitus, the goddess of shadow.
Penumbrian faces varie, being based on the phases of the moon as shown above.
The rarest phases are the Full and New moon phases. Only every 1 out of every 70000 penumbrians are born with these phases.
Penumbrian abilties include: Shapeshifting and Immortality*.
They can shapeshift into whatever they like, they only really use it for stuff that relates to their appearence though.
Penumbrians are immortal, but as time goes on their perception of the world becomes more and more abstact.
Until it becomes impossible for them to see or hear things, symptoms start around the age of 2500+ as it varies from person to person.
Penumbrian clothing tends to be like ours, but a part of the population prefers space themed designs.
Prefering imagery like stars or moons on their clothing, instead of just stripes or button ups.
Penumbrians love the stars above, and they especially love the moon.
Ghosts:
Ghosts in ShapeWurld are Uncommon, as they don't really stick around unless they like being a ghost.
Ghosts can stay forever, but if they decide they are finished being a ghost, they can be reincarnated.
From left to right, I will explain the types of ghosts that reside in ShapeWurld.
On the left is Specter, they have the ability to take on any form.
Specters tend to be playful and adventurous. Scaring people for entertainment, or going sightseeing.
They are the friendliest out of the 3 types.
In the middle is a Poltergeist, they can only haunt objects, being unable to commuinicate with the living.
This ghost type is the rarest out of the three, as most who end up as a poltergeist tend to move on from being a ghost.
Polergeists can commuinicate with fellow poltergeists.
On the right is a Spectra, they are similar to the Specter but they cannot change their appearence.
A Spectra only comes into existence when the person who became them is obsessed with their looks.
Odd, but true.
Slimes:
Slimes in ShapeWurld are a naturally occuring thing, they like to reside in dark, humid environments.
They can be made of lots of things naturally: Lava, Water, Oil or Blood.
A slime is made out of both the soul of a fallen being, and any of the liquids above.
Slimes also have a chance to have special properties naturally.
Special properties include: Transparency, Regeneration, Toxicity and Invulnerability.
Transparency is what it sounds like, some slimes can make themselves transparent at will.
Regeneration allows the slimes to recover from any attacks that cut them into multiple pieces.
Toxicity is a rarer property, it allows the slime to poison anything that comes into contact with them.
Naturally, toxicity is mostly common in blood slimes. But can be made unnaturally as well.
Invulnerability makes it so a slime is hard to kill, their lack of organs makes it that way.
Slimes can also be made unnaturally, out of any liquid you can use.
Coffee, Juice, Gravy, Etc. They can also be given properties.
Miscellaneous:
These 3 are different beings that don't fit into the last categories.
There are lots of beings like this around ShapeWurld, so I'll explain these 3.
Hedge-Hogs.
They are considered a subspecies of Hedgehogs, in ShapeWurld.
They start as a regular Hedgehog, but as they grow up they have a chance to take on a Hedge.
Hence, the name Hedge-Hog. They also come in variants based on where they grow up, as seen above.
Dew-Drops.
In the middle is a Dew-Drop, a water based being that falls off of leafs after the rain.
They tend to stick together, keeping eachother safe and being aggressive to outsiders.
They come in variants as well. Water, Lava and Ash. Each having their own kingdom.
Queen Wayves, Muhlton and Duhst.
These are the queens of each dew-drop kingdom, there are no kings unfortunately.
They rule over their dew-drops in each of their kingdoms, making sure they don't die or anything like that.
They get along well with eachother, loving eachothers company.
Queen Wayves kingdom is a seaside kingdom, every dew-drop here being very calm and collected.
Queen Muhltons kingdom is located near a volcano, every dew-drop here is kind of mean and closed off.
Finally, Queen Duhsts kingdom is located on the continent of Grimstone. A very dark and ash covered place.
Lastly, Ceramians.
Ceramians are beings made of Bricks or Clay, sometimes both.
They can choose to be whatever they want, as long as it's made of Bricks or Clay.
Their most interesting aspect is their mastery of architecture, able to build, measure, resource gather, and destroy buildings with absolute ease.
They tend to build structures on their own in the wild. Whether it be small pyramids, clay huts or even huge cabins.
They live in these structures for up to 10 years, until eventually moving out, and moving on from it.
Leaving their abandoned homes to the elements.
They reproduce by taking a piece of themselves and putting it into a clay reserve. Creating a new, small Ceramian.
The young are then taught how to build, and eventually they'll learn to master architecture.
Over time they were domesticated. Not in the pet context, but to be construction workers or city planners.
Regardless of where a Ceramian is born they will always be either Brick or Clay.
Shoutouts to my girlfriend for helping me with the Ceramians section.
